First day in Sydney
What no jetlag? I reckon it'll catch up with me in a couple of days, but I woke up this morning, and I felt just fine. I guess the few hours sleep I got on the plane meant I managed to adjust my internal clock by the time I got up this morning.
Tom and I spent the day wondering around Darlin Harbour, and we ended up in the Maritime Museum. Today is toms birthday, so we'll be off out tonight for a meal and a few drinks I suspect!
Last night we had a few schooners (?) in the bar opposite the hotel - called the Mac Lounge, which specialises in Funk, and Thai food. A very nice combination. They also brew their own beer called SB (???) which was pretty tasty. The Thai restaraunt upstairs was pretty good value, and my Pad Thai was very good!
Sydney seems to remind me of what I imagine new york to be like, architecturally wise anyway. (and as I haven't actually been to New York, I can only go by what it looks like on the telly).
Tomorrow is the first day of the conference, so i'm looking forward to that, i've even bought a new shirt to wear (as my bags are on taking a trip of their own).

- happy birthday to tom! new york is nothing like what it looks like in the movies. there's expensive boutiques next door to two-bit diners and the whole place is populated by rude people. (of course this is just emma's opinion, it could be marvelous. - andrew on Mon May 19 2008 17:12:27 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)
