I have finally become more than just a name, I am now a number, according to UCD, which means I am now a proper student, with my very own student number :)

I have also been awarded a full IRCSET scholarship, and now I need to spend the next 3-4 years researching, erm... stuff?

Only kidding, my reasearch will be somewhere within the realm of complex, adaptive and autonomous (sensor) networks/systems, but will depend mostly on what I learn/read/stumble over/pick up over the next 6 to 12 months, at which time I will also be studying 4 MSc/4th Yr. BSc modules which makes up the coursework commitment to my structured PhD (as I do not have an MSc).

Laura moved over last weekend, and we now have a fully functioning deaths star/home. Life is set to be pretty cool over the foreseeable future, and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in!

The Guiness DOES taste better here, and I've partaken in more since I've been here than I ever would back in Blighty. However the only problem is that the beer is all priced like London is, and my Stipend is about a 3rd of my wages :S

Oh well, white lightning it is then! :)
