Mountain Madness
As you may have guessed from my cunningly integrated location blogging (see last 2 posts :D !) I was in Wales last weekend, and went climbing up a mountain! :D
The mountain is calles Tryfan (treh-fan), its in Snowdonia and is about 999m high! (not a patch on the one my Uncle climbed (mostly)).
I have added the pictures which document some of our misadventures whilst ascending and descending the mountain, which I might add, was a pretty tough excercise!
It seems we took the most 'technical' (by which I mean about as hard as you can get without using ropes!) route up the mountain, taking us (inexperienced first timers) a good 4 Hours. We then came down in about 2 hours after having lunch.
The campsite was cool (freezing in fact) with cobwebby toilets (much to Laura's horror) and 50p per 5 minute showers!
There was a very nice little pub called 'Bryn Tyrch' just next to the camp site, in which we had dinner on our return from Mount Doom (Simpsons reference - when Homer thinks he's got to the top, he sees the real peak. This happened to us a number of times! see side view picture!).
All in all a fun trip - with much scaryness but a heavy sense of satisfaction and very sore muscles! :) next stop Everest(?).
