Saturday (5th August) marks the start of Hastings Old Town week, where people all visit the town and make it more money.

At the same time lots of locals put on events and fun things for people to do!

This weekend starts with the Beach Concert (Sat and Sun) which is normally pretty cool and is where i'll start my photography thing again this year. Last year I hatched upon the cunning plan to make some cash (and charity money) by taking pictures of people at events, and selling them the picture for a small fee. This worked really well and i'm doing it again this year!

During the week there is usually a slew of coffee mornings, cream tea's and wine and cheese parties, not to mention the odd barbeque and a few competing Ghost walks. (Plus i've just found an entry in the program for 'The Famous Hastings Back Passages Tour' which i'll leave you to consider yourself :S).

Notably though, my favourite events of the week are

• Beach Party! - (Sat/Sun - Beer, Bands and Party)
• 'Sea Boot Race' (Mon - Some beer)
• 'Old Town Treasure Trail' (Mon - Much Beer)
• 'Old Town Bike Race' (Tues)
• Pram Race (Wed - Big drinking involved)
• 'High Street Party' (Thurs - Some beer)
• 'Drop Dead Divas' (Fri - New Caberet thinger!)
• 'Amsterdam Theme Night' (Fri - Men Dressed as women and the like :S)
• and 'The Grand Carnival Procession' & West Hill Fireworks/Bands (Sat - yet more boozing and Dancing!)
