Have just been told that the security and foresics module of my course that I had chosen has been cancelled as there weren't enough people on it.

The university apparently has a policy that if there are less than 12 students on a module, then it is financially unviable. This works well when there hundreds of people on a course, but when the there are only 20 people given a choice between 2 modules, it seems ludicrous to expect both to run in the first place.

There were 8 people enrolled on the same module as me, and the rest enrolled onto the Advanced web design (the alternative module), but as we will be sharing that module with MSc students, there was not danger of that being cancelled.

Unfortunately, even if we could find 12 students to do the security and forensics module, there is no way that the module will be re-instated.

As I say, really pissed off now. :(
