                <description>Formalised common sense: it crops up an awful lot all over education these days. Not surprising given the proliferation of degree programmes and the need to fill them. For instance, the PGCHE I'm currently dragging myself through is not much more than pure common sense dressed up in the most strangulated onanistic language ever devised. Educational theorists do this, I think, because if they used plainer language it would be apparent to the wider academic community that most of the area suffers from a terrible case of Emperor's New Clothes. Business is even worse of course, because of the mindless 'can't say what you really think' corporate doublethink that pervades all of culture now. Maybe I'm just too old and cynical...

PS: you couldn't do something about your comments could you? It's like trying to type through a letterbox....</description>
